How to hang a basket wall
Hey everyone! I am excited to finally be writing this post - I have been hoarding baskets in my spare closet for like six months in preparation for this moment! A BASKET WALL! Whether you’ve seen them in magazines, Instagram, or Pinterest - basket clusters are all the rage for boho decor, and I just had to be part of the movement! Check out my youtube video for a quick video, and read below for the full step by step process.
There are three items your will need:
Finishing nails
A Hammer
Baskets (I used 7)
I started collecting my baskets about 8 months ago. Because of my Etsy shop, I am in and out of thrift stores every other week, and I always keep my eye out for little wicker baskets. They usually range from $1-$2, and vary between tan and brown tones. Between the 7 I selected, I made sure to find differing sizes and depths to give some uniqueness to the grouping as a whole. To begin the process I laid them out on the floor to get a sense of the overall placement, and then held them up on the wall to make sure the scale was accurate (if you are particular about the exact placement, I would recommend cutting out pieces of paper to the size of each basket and taping this to the wall before starting) - however this is more of a bohemian look, it’s okay for things to be a little out of place and imperfect!
Next I took the finishing nails and hammer and began hanging my baskets. I turned on my phone camera and placed it across the room to get perspective as I hung each one (you could also use a mirror). It really helped see the grouping as a whole, and I was able to adjust as needed.
Voila! There you have it, the full (simple) step by step basket wall process! In total this whole grouping only cost about $15 but makes a great addition to the space! The wicker really adds warmth to the room, and ties together some of my darker and lighter wood tones. Overall I couldn’t be more thrilled, and as I come across more baskets - I hope to add to it!
