Old Navy Activewear Haul

Hey everyone! With the new year Shayne and I have been hitting the gym harder than we have in the past, and with the change in lifestyle I've found myself a little un-inspired in my activewear outfits. My go - to lately seems to be just an old pair of black Lulu Lemon leggings, and a baggy t-shirt.... I KNOW - BORING! It's a proven fact, when you look good - you feel good! Why not feel your best at the one place a lot of us feel our most vulnerable! Which is why I hit the mall with $200 to burn and a workout-wear wardrobe to fill. If you want the scoop on my haul, click the link below to see the full video version of my purchases, and read on for a few outfit ideas and inspirations!

I started at the one store I always associate with "workout-wear" - Lulu Lemon... But I was a little defeated knowing my $200 would really only get me a top and a bottom, not quit enough to "overhaul" my current outfit situation. One item I had on my list was basic white gym shoes, I do have 3 sets of name-brand sneakers however, it's starting to become a pain keeping them clean and moving them from the closet to my gym bag! I just needed a simple white runner to match all my outfits and that I could keep in my gym bag for the sole purpose of being my workout shoe. Leaving Lulu Lemon and walking past Ardenes, their shoe section really caught my eye! I didn’t realize how extensive their runner collection had grown, with at least three full styles offered completely in white! I selected a pair that were easy to slide on and off, with lots of cushion - and truth be told - look identical to a pair of Adidas sneakers. For only $23, I rang them up and was on my way!

Next I made my way over to Old Navy, I had seen activewear there before but had never really dove too far into that section... Was I ever missing out! They had so many colours and style of leggings, tanks, sports bras, t-shirts and so much more! I'm actually a little sad I've been spending $100 on leggings all these years, I find I've been so boring in my colour selection, always keeping things "neutral" so they'll be more versatile - but wheres the fun in that! Breaking my usual mold, I went straight for a pink/purple pair of leggings. They have this wonderful band around the top that is really quite shaping and definitely stays in place - no awkward muffin top! To top it off, these leggings were on sale for $15! The next pair I scored was a crop style legging in a brick colour - super trendy! They also have pockets which is so great if you like to keep your phone on you while you work out. The last pair of pants I got were more of a loose jogger style, they are going to be so dynamic for the gym, traveling, hiking, and I even think the office with the right blouse!

For tops I started off by purchasing a basic white sports bra, I don’t need a lot of support so I just went with a cute cross back pattern, and non adjustable straps. They did have a TON of different styles however, so if you are someone who needs a little more support they definetly would have a strap style that would suite you. Next I tried to get one of each top style (tank, t-shirt, and long sleeve). The tank I found is really sweet! It's white with a slight grey leopard print, so it is a little sheer but paired really nicely with my white sports bra. Next I got a really classic black t-shirt, I also had it in white but with the sleeves being a little tight - I didn’t trust the likely hood of sweat stains - so stuck with the black. The nice feature about it, is this little knot at the bottom - it adds just enough intrigue without getting in the way, and is a great feature when tucking in the shirt so the fabric isn't all bunched. The final top I purchased was a grey long sleeve, it had a twisted detail in the front, which I love as it's not baggy! I did see someone else’s review of this shirt online, they weren't particularly happy with how high the neck line came up, but for me I prefer the coverage when I'm working out.

I was so happy with the outcome of my shopping trip! It has definitely given me an extra boost of confidence to be looking good while I work out! I hope this post inspires you to branch out and get creative with your workout outfits! It doesn’t always have to be black leggings and boring shirts, when we take pride in our workout-wear it helps us take pride in our fitness journey!
