My Creative Workwear Capsule Wardrobe
Long time no talk! I’ve finally been crawling out from under my quarantine rock! Thanks so much for your patience on my slow content as of late, like many others my world has been flipped upside down and turned all around because of this crazy pandemic.
I’m happy to announce I am finally joining the workforce once again (laid off since April 1st), and because I’ve spent so much time in loungewear, I figured it was time my workwear got a small update! You can catch the full video break down in the link below, or read on to hear all about my workwear capsule wardrobe.
THE FUNDAMENTALS: I would always advise to start with neutrals. My closet is made up of whites, greys, blacks, and tans. Using a strong neutral foundation, mixing and matching becomes really easy. My main tool with this tactic is to use white shirts, this allows me to pair them with all pant options and layer with any of my sweaters or blazers. White shirts also then become the only item I really shop for all year round, by simply introducing a new white shirt every few months it can help keep your wardrobe fresh while still allowing all your pieces to work together.
COLOUR: I try to limit myself to one spectrum (for me this is maroon/ cranberry/ burgundy/ pink). Doing this helps to create a cohesive look and adds a level of uniformity to my overall wardrobe. I also find when I shop it makes it easier to have some sort of “blinder” effect to any other colour option.
SHOES: I like to always have flats, sandals, a few boot options (if you live in a snowy climate), sneakers, heels, and I add an option in my accent colour. I find sometimes we can go overboard with shoe options, but usually only wear a select few anyway. This is why I keep my options pretty streamline and update each pair as they start to wear down.
That pretty much sums it up! Check out my photos below to see how each item works into the grand scheme!
