Frank and Oak Unboxing - Drift Sneakers

Oh my gosh you guys! From the moment I saw these shoes online it was like the heavens opened up and angels sang! I have been longing for a new white shoe for a while now - my current white runners are great, they are leather, slip on, and over all pretty comfortable - THE ISSUE is they have this big black detail across the side, which makes my OCD crazy if I try to wear them with brown, tans, or other warm tones... Hence the need for a white shoe that's just a little more neutral! Starting off I just need to get it off my chest - THEY ARE EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED FOR AND MORE! You can get a full glimpse of my joy in the video below, watch as I unbox the shoes and see a few looks I created with them.

At First glimpse of the shoes I was surprised by how sturdy they looked! Not bulky by any means, but just overall well constructed and they have more support than I am used to in a casual runner. Reading online I was aware they would be some type of "eco-leather" hybrid material so I wasn’t sure how that would translate into durability and shape, but honestly I don't notice any type of difference compared to similar shoes I own. The inside is made of cork which makes walking in them almost a little bouncy - similar to a real running shoe I would wear to the gym. I also like that the cork will hold up better than a felt type insole, which can tend to come unglued and move around overtime. The one design feature I have mixed reviews about after wearing the shoes for about a week now, is the higher ankle support - this is great and I 100% appreciate the function, however if you plan on sliding the shoes off and on (as opposed to un-tying and re-tying) this part of the shoe will likely start to wear down and create a bump near your ankle - my solution so far has been to leave them quite loose and slide them off and on more diligently than I do in other sneakers.

They are so versatile! I can't wear jeans to my office job, so I usually wear flats with dress pants - I can honestly say these shoes work with almost any professional outfit I wear day to day! They are the perfect neutral tone and work with all the colours in my closet, and they are sleek enough that they don't appear bulky or look disproportionate to the rest of the outfit. Wearing them with jeans is a no-brainer, they are stunning and complete any casual jean outfit! Evening looks of course go better with a bit of a heal, but I paired my usual "go-to" leather pant outfit with the sneakers and it still looked RAD - also more sensible if it is going to be an evening of dancing the night away! With some of our travel plans in the near future I am so excited to bring these along! On our Honeymoon to the British Isles, these shoes will serve a multitude of my needs like everyday walking/ fancy dinners out/ and keeping my feet dry from any rain we may encounter! Likely I will bring a light pair of hiking boots for exploring the countryside, and a pair of flip flops for any sandal needs, but other than that these shoes will serve all my other purposes perfectly!

I hope that gives you a detailed look into the shoe and some ideas of what to wear them with (they are so transitional I cant picture any outfit you couldn't rock with them!)
